North Texas Custom Plumbing has been rated No. 1 for customer service and the installation of tank and tankless water heaters in Frisco, Allen, McKinney, Prosper, Celina, and surrounding North Texas Communities. These compact, high-efficiency devices allow you to save on your home energy bills by generating hot water on-demand and as-needed. The difference between tank and tankless water heaters is quite simple:

Water Heaters – a storage tank for water that is heated by either gas or electricity.

Tankless Water Heaters – provide hot water on demand without a tank. The activation of a faucet requiring hot water activates the heater and water is heated as it flows through a heating coil or heat exchanger.

WHAT TO DO IF YOUR TANKLESS WATER HEATER FREEZES...

If you have a high efficiency / condensing tankless water heater, there is a possibility your condensate may drain to the exterior. If you are experiencing no hot water with error codes 10 or 25, most likely your condensate drain has frozen on the exterior wall and is not allowing the condensate to drain properly causing the unit to code out. TIP: Condensate drain will be a 3/4 inch PVC pipe located on the bottom left hand side of the tankless unit. You can attempt to thaw out this drain with a hair dryer or space heater. NEVER leave space heaters unattended and never use a kerosene heater. There is also a condensate trap drain plug (black) on the bottom left hand side of the tankless unit near the drain outlet that can be unscrewed temporarily to release condensate. This will allow for temporary hot water. It will need to be reinstalled after allowing condensate to drain.
